Care & Maintenance Tips

Dusting

Use a clean, soft lint-free cloth for regular dusting.

Spills & Splatters

Clean spills and splatters immediately.  Prolonged exposure to spills, including food, water or other liquids, or  oil and grease splatters can cause permanent discoloration or damage.

Cleaning

Mix 1 part vinegar to 4 parts warm water.  Using a soft cotton cloth, wipe all surfaces and dry immediately using a soft cotton cloth.  A thorough cleaning is recommended once to twice a year.

Waxing & Polishing

Waxing is not required or recommended.  Over time, the wax will build up on the surface of your cabinets.  This can cause a hazy, streaky, or yellowed appearance, as well as attract dust particles.  The wax can become difficult to remove.  If you want to polish your cabinets, we recommend using Guardsman cleaning and polishing products.

Avoid using the following products on your cabinets:

  • Harsh chemicals
  • Abrasive cleaning products
  • Solvent or petroleum-based products suceh as mineral spirits, nail-polish removers, and paint thinners
  • Ammonia or cleaning products that may contain ammonia
  • Bleach or cleaning products that may contain bleach
